Day 264: Curvy Cutie at the mall

MILF…

…It’s not a particularly respectful term nor one that often escapes my lips. But hey, sometimes the shoe fits.

I saw this middle aged bombshell walking through the mall. I was sketching at a coffee shop and she was shopping with her daughter.

She wasn’t under dressed in clothes from Forever 21, pumped up on plastic surgery or trying to show off in any way.

She was just simply - gorgeous. Fresh, natural and beautiful.

Day 262: Throwback Diva (80min sketch)

I’m sure it’s no surprise that I own a book titled “Va-Va-Voom!”

Inside the pages of that delightful masterpiece is a whole truck load of classic Hollywood pinup photographs. All of Hollywood’s old school bodacious babes are represented.

So I took it upon myself to sit down for 80 minutes and fall in love with Lana Turner. 

I wasn’t so much concerned with capturing her likeness as I was with trying out this drawing technique. I limited myself to just 4 french grey markers, a couple colored pencils and a pen.

Good old fashioned fun!

Day 250: Damn, Girl!

This morning Lauren came out of the bedroom and I almost choked on my eggs.

She looked stunning in a tight red top, pearl necklace, black slacks and beige flats.

“Oh my God,” I said. “You look beautiful.”

She really did. So I drew her (in my Moleskine sketchbook) because that’s my favorite thing to do when I see something that lovely.

What do you think was the first thing I noticed about this woman?

If you’ve been with me for a while then you know the answer has nothing to do with her anatomy.

It was the dress! That yellow and gray stripe combo was fantastic. She topped it off with yellow open toe high heels and I just had to draw her.

Well dressed women of the world beware! If your outfit inspires me, you’re going to end up here!
